Before completing the form, please review the brief explanations below to help determine which type of recognition is most appropriate for your request:

Explanation of Recognition Types

Proclamation:

(May or may not be listed on a Board Meeting agenda; does not require a majority vote of the Board)
An official declaration recognizing a specific day, week, or month; honoring community events; or highlighting public awareness campaigns. Proclamations are broad in scope and raise awareness or celebrate a cause.

Honoring Resolution:

A formal written action adopted by the governing body, often used for significant recognitions, dedications, or policy-related matters. Resolutions carry more permanence than proclamations.
Examples:
  • Honoring Stephanie Mongiello Wauters as the 2024 Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Grand Marshal, given by the Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Committee;
  • Honoring Joseph Buckelew's dedicated service to Ocean County

A personalized recognition of an individual, group, or organization for achievements, service, retirements, anniversaries, or milestones. Certificates are less formal but tailored to the honoree.
